The business life is a world of speed and scheduling. It can often fill your days with work and prevent you from spending quality time with your children that you need and want to. There are some opportunities that are available to you as a business person though. It is all about timing and investments. I’ve learned this well in my CEO and dad adventures.
Family first
There are some important guidelines to handling your business trips and children. Don’t make it harder on them than it already is when you leave for the trip. Having them wake you up in the middle of the night can be hard on them, especially if you share the same bed. Try timing your trip to be as short as possible. Leaving early and getting back the same day will help the kids to accept your travels better. The less time you spend away from home, the more opportunities there are to spend with your kids. Sometimes it may even be fun to take your kids with you on the trip. Hotel rooms and other experiences may arise from the travels, and although you are working, your kids will still be close, and as long as they have some supervision, they may enjoy their vacation.
